Small RNA has been to important regulators in recent years and has significant functions in many cellular processes including development, cell differentiation and apoptosis, which has been implicated in many diseases. Small RNA sequencing usually focuses on characterizing microRNA (miRNA), PIWI-interacting RNA (piRNA), small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) and small interfering RNA (siRNA) which allows researchers to study expression patterns, isoforms, and discover novel small RNAs.
