Product Overview
Recombinant Mouse Ctsa protein (Met 1-Tyr 474), fused with a his tag at the C-terminus, was expressed in Human Cells.
Description
Mouse cathepsin A / lyososomal carboxypeptidase A, is a lysosomal serine protease with structural homology to yeast carboxypeptidase Y. This enzyme is synthesized as a 54kDa precursor/zymogen and is processed into a catalytically active 32 and 20kDa two-chain form. linked by disulfide bonds. In addition to its carboxypeptidase activities at acidic pH, cathepsin A also serves as a multicatalytic enzyme with deamidase and esterase activities at neutral pH. Also identified as a lyososomal protective protein distinct from its catalytic function., cathepsin A associates with lysosomal enzymes beta-galactosidase and neuraminidase to form a complex of high molecular weight multimers, and provides a protective role for stability and activity.
